Made in Paris

A copain.e piece doesn't travel far before it finds you.

It is born in Paris, in a workshop in the 15th arrondissement. After you order it, never before.

The workshop

A family-run workshop, heir to a historic French house.

Here you'll find hands that know garments by heart, gestures passed down, and all the time it takes. This is where our drawings take on their first volume: the pattern, to the millimetre, then the toile, then the piece.

That precision shows in every line: the curve of the Dune trousers, the sculpting seams of the Eve corset, the three pleats that gather the sleeve of the Storm shirt.

Paris, a few metro stops away

We could have said “made in France”. We wanted something closer: close to the hands we work with, on a shorter path to you.

The workshop is only a few metro stops away. Close enough to drop by often: to touch a toile, rework a detail, watch a first piece come to life. Nothing is decided from a distance.

The fabric rests in France, the piece takes shape in Paris, and it leaves from Paris. The journey is short, and that is the point.

The time a piece takes

  1. You choose it, during the pre-order campaign.
  2. When the campaign closes, we reserve the fabric and the workshop gets to work.
  3. Cutting, assembly, finishing. The buttons, mother-of-pearl and corozo, engraved copain.e.
  4. A final look, the packing, the departure: your piece reaches you 4 to 8 weeks after the campaign ends.

Waiting for a piece is already making room for it. Everything is explained in our pre-order FAQ.

Limited series, by nature

Each design exists in 10 to 25 pieces, no more.

That number isn't ours to set: the fabric sets it. Our textiles are deadstock, and what lies dormant cannot be restocked. When the roll runs out, so does the series.

Nothing is made in advance. Nothing is made in excess.
