An oversized shirt inspired by an iconic piece, cut for movement in a cotton and silk faille with a quiet sheen. Two asymmetric panels on the front, one with a small pocket. Sleeves gathered into three pleats. At the back, a storm flap borrowed from the trench coat: the detail that gives the piece its name. Natural mother-of-pearl and corozo buttons, engraved.

DESCRIPTION

An oversized shirt, cut for movement. Dropped shoulders for a generous but controlled volume.

A classic shirt collar with a buttoned front.

On the chest, two asymmetric panels structure the front: one carries a small flap pocket.

The sleeves gather into three pleats at the wrist, into a wide, structured cuff. At the cuffs and the back, the buttons are mother-of-pearl: they catch the light as you move. Elsewhere, corozo, matte and deep.

At the back, a buttoned flap panel: a storm flap, borrowed from protective outerwear, which gives the shirt its name. The rounded hem falls longer at the back.

The cotton-silk blend keeps its body and a quiet sheen. An honest fabric, made for every day, that softens with time.

Mother-of-pearl is a natural, living material: avoid direct contact with the iron, perfume and cosmetics. Handled with care, the buttons keep their lustre over time.

Our shirt runs large, for a pronounced oversized effect. Our models wear a size S.

If you usually shop womenswear, we suggest going one size down from your usual size, to keep the oversized effect just as we imagined it.

What if the fabric came before the design?

For this first capsule, copain.e chose to start from the dormant fabrics of luxury houses: noble materials that had already passed through demanding mills and workshops, but were never made into clothing. Rather than a design calling for a fabric, here it is the fabric, its rarity, its drape, its provenance, that draws the piece. Limited quantities, available only once, for series that are unique by nature.
